Hello Everyone,

I know I had originally planned to organize a pot luck dinner in Laurelhurst park for June but have had a change on mind and thought it would be more fun to eat at a restaurant where we could dine outdoors if the weather behaves or indoors if it does not.

The place that I have picked is "Perrys On Fremont" on the north side corner of 24th and Fremont streets.

We have an outdoor table reserved for June 8th at 6:30 pm if it's good weather, otherwise we can eat indoors.

If you check the menus you will notice there are no prices listed. When I called I asked about that the person I talked to told me those are sample menus. Price ranges for entrees start at $12.95 up to $24.95. Small plates start at $6.95.

Please RSVP no later than Monday June 6, 2011.

In the spirit of experiencing new things, I have selected Ya Hala Lebanese Resturantfor our dining pleasure this month.

Note: time is 6:15 pm if possible.

This resturant does not take reservations but will put us on their watch list if we know the number. They will seat even if all are not there.

So, I really do need to know if you are coming. I hear the food is excellent and the service this year has improved tremendously. Parking is available along stark on either side as this is a one way going Westbound. Take a look at the menu and maybe there are some dishes that we can share.

Our March 2nd Wednesday will be at Tarboush Lebanese Bistro on Hawthorne. Please let me know by Monday if you will be able to join us as I will make the reservation for 6:30. This is a lovely place, I have eaten there and been wanting to go back! Parking can be somewhat tricky in this area so carpooling is a good idea if parking stresses you out :)

Hi everyone,

There will be a change in venue for the 2nd Wednesday. Romaine can't come next week, so I decided to leave the Africa show until a later date when she can make it. Instead I've made reservations for 6:30 at Foster Burger at 5339 SE Foster Rd.

BRING CASH. They will accept no more than two credit cards per group. And they don't do separate checks. If you've already let me know whether you plan on coming next week or not, you don't need to re-email me *unless* there's a change. See you next week!

Christmas Potluck

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a fine Thanksgiving holiday with family & friends.

2nd Wed is around the corner alright...please put your ideas together for our traditional potluck and white elephant fun. It will be Dec 8th at 6:30 at my house. Holly will bring her bean soup and I will make another (chicken or?) and so just rsvp back to all what you would like to bring. Salad, appetizer, beverage, bread/crackers or dessert. And that wonderful white elephant too.(I saw some REALLY creepy things in a thrift store recently but resisted; arent you
glad?)

ps The last two years we also collected some canned food for the Oregon Food Bank. Last year, I took it all to Jiffy Lube, which actually matches the poundage with additional donations. So if you would like to contribute again, please bring and I will do the same this year.
