I'd never had Balkan food so it was particularly fun to try so many new things! The gyro-like chevapi meatballs (really good), the spicy red ajvar spread, interestingly sour corn bread, sliced meats on the meza (my favorite suprisingly turned out to be the one with lots of fat), the cream cheese/onion spread, goulash ... I wasn't crazy about everything, but I liked it all, and it was so much fun to experiment in such good company!
I had never tasted this food either. I loved the cornbread (nice and hot and moist) with the spread that had cottage cheese, bell peppers, garlic, etc.). We shared a lot of food and my favorites were the sliced meats (appetizer), the pork chop, the ajvar spread, and the Bosnian hamburger. Waitresses were so sweet, friendly and very professional. Introduced myself to the 14 yr. old son who together with his 4 yr. old brother are the namesakes for this restaurant. Although only 14 he was handling himself very well as waiter and greeter. Lovely place and as always wonderful company! MaryO
I had the goulash with rotini noodles & it was tasty. I had expected it to be with egg noodles & meat with a creamy paprika sauce but it is a heartier fare (not creamy at all & lots of meat chunks). I agree with Mary on the waitress being professional & friendly. She didn't seemed daunted at all by our huge table. The parking lot is VERY small & only fits about 4 cars. I would eat here again:) Was nice to have almost ALL of our group this time!
Good point on the parking - we parked in the Walgreens lot across the street. Lots and lots of room in there.
The pork chop was very tender and tasty. The only thing I would have liked to have seen more of was veggies. Our waitperson was wonderful - very pleasant, patient and efficient. Thanks to those of you who shared appetizers with the rest of us. It was a fun evening overall; nice to see so many of us turn out.
Sorry - I forgot to add my name to the bottom of "Anonymous".....Sue
